Vanderbilt Medical Alumni Association Host Program
Welcome to the Vanderbilt Medical Alumni Association Host Program. Each fall our senior medical students (VMS IVs) begin their quest for the perfect residency match, often interviewing at over 15 programs scattered across the nation. Travel expenses, especially those for hotel accommodations, mount up quickly and add to many of our students’ post-graduation debt loads. If you are not a current VMAA Host Program participant, would you consider joining the 300+ Vanderbilt Medical Alumni who are actively participating with this program?

Your information will be accessible to VMS III and VMS IV students through the Vanderbilt student password-protected portal. Students will search the password protected database by city to locate hosts in their interview destinations. Students requesting a stay in your home will make contact with host program members. Scheduling a student visit is strictly at the host’s prerogative. If the timing is inconvenient, you should feel free to decline. We especially need medical alumni host program volunteers in cities with large teaching programs; however, even if you are not in close proximity to a teaching program, please consider volunteering. Our students often crisscross the country by car and having a place to stopover between interview destinations would be wonderful.
Our Vanderbilt Medical Alumni are the most caring and gracious group of alumni anywhere. The VMAA Host Program provides another vehicle for continuing our strong tradition of hospitality and service.
With very best wishes,
Ann Price (VUSM, Class of ’78)
