The goal of the Biochemistry Student Association (BSA) is to promote interactions between graduate students, post-docs, and faculty members, and to foster academic and professional development of the biochemistry student body, particularly regarding career development.

The Biochemistry Student Colloquium takes place every other Tuesday, 4:00-5:00 PM in room 512 Light Hall. This seminar series is designed to allow students and post-docs to present their research to a group of students, post-docs, and faculty in a relaxed environment (complete with food and beverages). The BSA board presents updates at the start of each colloquium.

“Whine and Cheese” Happy Hours
These happy hours take place (roughly) the last Friday of every month, and are designed to give every member of the department a chance to relax and socialize, to vent and rant over their scientific endeavors if they so choose.

2017 Student Retreat

2016 Student Retreat
The 2016 Biochemistry Student Association Retreat occurred on March 8th, and was a complete success! For abstracts and more, go to the Retreat web page.
The current officers were elected on May 10, 2016. We elected a President, a Vice President, and a Secretary. The next elections will take place on May 2, 2017. We will be looking to have 4 officers: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
