The Interdisciplinary Graduate Program (IGP)<\/a> in the Biological and Biomedical Sciences is a leading integrative biomedical graduate program, designed to foster creative and analytical thinkers, geared to tackle the quickly\u00a0evolving world of research and technology. As a union between\u00a011 participating programs<\/a>, the IGP provides a strong foundation for biomedical dissertation work.<\/p>\r\n Quantitative and Chemical Biology Program (QCB)<\/a> Expand<\/i><\/a><\/p>\r\n The Quantitative and Chemical Biology<\/a> program is a Ph.D. track, multidisciplinary program introducing elements of biology to students who wish to pursue a doctoral degree at the interface of the chemical, physical, and biological sciences. The curriculum prepares students for research careers in any area of biomedical research. Many students choose to work in interdisciplinary fields such as chemical biology, structural biology, imaging sciences, molecular and cellular biophysics, or systems biology.<\/p>\r\n Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP)<\/a> Expand<\/i><\/a><\/p>\r\n The MSTP\u00a0(formerly known as the M.D.\/Ph.D. program) provides students with an integrated curriculum that features a strong core education in medicine and intensive training in scientific inquiry. Successful completion of the program leads to both the M.D. and Ph.D. degrees. The Vanderbilt MSTP<\/a> builds on the existing strengths of Vanderbilt University to meet national needs for well-trained basic and clinical biomedical investigators.<\/p>\r\n Vanderbilt is home to Biomedical Ph.D. programs ranging from Biostatistics to Neuroscience to Epidemiology. While admission into many of our Biomedical PhD programs is through the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program (IGP) and Quantitative and Chemical Biology Program (QCB), we also have many programs for which you can apply directly.
