Come join the MELP Ethics Journal Club!
If you have never been to one, these journal clubs have been an engaging opportunity for students and interested faculty to examine issues of medical ethics through discussion of articles, current events and our own experiences with patients.
This April, we will be discussing how to approach consent and decision-making in young adults with intellectual disabilities. What level of understanding is necessary to obtain assent? How do you approach decisions about conducting pelvic exams or the use of contraception? Come talk with us about the ethical difficulties in approaching such decisions!
We will be meeting in Light Hall Room 433. Please bring your own lunch. We will be sending the reading(s) by e-mail, so be on the lookout!
