Details

Join the Wilderness Medical Society on an overnight spelunking and camping trip to Raccoon Mountain. Located near Chattanooga, TN, Raccoon Mountain has been named the #1 cave in TN and 8th in the US. It has also been recognized as "Chattanooga's Top Outing" by Fodor's Travel Guide and is a National Geographic Destination.

Our trip will consist of a 4 hour caving expedition, complete with belly crawls, followed by a night spent in the cave! The spelunking expedition is led by guides and all necessary equipment is provided. We will depart Nashville mid-afternoon on Feb 27 and return late-morning on Feb 28. For first years, this is the weekend in between EDR units. For second, third, and fourth years, this is your free weekend between blocks. Don't miss out on this opportunity for a once in a lifetime weekend adventure!

Thanks to CCO, this trip will be subsidized to cost $10/person +/- approximately $5 for gear rental if you don't own a sleeping bag and pad! Participants will need to bring money for a dinner stop on the drive down and snacks.

Space is limited - RSVP to aubri.charnigo@vanderbilt.edu to reserve your spot. First come, first served!
