On November 19th from 12-1 pm in LH 208, the VUSM Global Health Organization will host a faculty panel discussing topics on health and humanitarianism through the lens of the current Syrian refugee crisis. Speakers will include:

  • Dr. Gatluak Thach, President and CEO of Nashville International Center for Empowerment
  • Dr. Katherine Carroll, Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and Director of Public Policy Studies

  • Renee Martin-Willett, MA (MHS) and expert on refugee/migrant trauma

  • Dr. Anas Abou-Ismail, Nephrology Fellow and author of A Melody of Tears: Sorrows of Syria

  • Carol Etherington, MSN, RN, Associate Professor of Nursing, Emerita, Vanderbilt Institute for Global Health
