Vanderbilt Science Policy Group hosts AAAS Fellow & Vanderbilt alum Dr. Rubin Baskir

The Vanderbilt Science Policy Group (VSPG) will be hosting Dr. Rubin Baskir, Ph.D., a former Vanderbilt graduate student and current NIH-AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow on March 1st, 5-6pm in Light Hall 306A/B. Rubin will discuss his current work with the NIH’s All of Us Research Program as well as his experiences navigating the transition from graduate school to a policy fellowship. This event is open to all science and engineering students and postdoctoral fellows. Light refreshments will be provided. 

 

VSPG is a student organization that aims to educate its members on scientific policies and the process of policy-making at all levels of the federal and local government as well as to empower members to become advocates for their chosen scientific interests. To accomplish this aim, VSPG works to promote effective written and oral communication among scientists, elected officials, and the general public and supports career development for members interested in pursuing careers in scientific policy.
