Job Opportunity: Senior Health Education Specialist, Contra Costa County Health Services Department, Martinez, CA
The Contra Costa County Health Services Department is seeking qualified individuals interested in the Senior Health Education Specialist to join a team of healthcare professionals in the Public Health Division. We currently have four (4) vacancies located in Martinez, CA, and may require travel. The Senior Health Education Specialist implements education and health promotion activities to protect the health and well-being of many communities at risk for poor health outcomes. Typical tasks include: planning, conducting and evaluating the health education and health prevention aspects of Public Health programs; and coordinating various civic groups, community agencies, schools to encourage interests and activity in the promotion of public and environmental health.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record demonstrating the following:
Coordinating multiple program elements including conferring and advising staff on health education and preventive health principles
Conducting needs assessment, preparing reports, organizing and arranging discussion groups on health education
Working with various civic groups, community agencies, schools, and the public in the promotion of public health
