Job Opportunities: Various Positions in Statistical Genetics, Computational Biology and Bioinformatics at the National Eye Institute, NIH, Bethesda, MD
We have several positions available (biologist, post doc, grad student, post bac) in the Retinal Development, Genetics, and Therapy Section of the Neurobiology, Neurodegeneration and Repair Laboratory (Dr. Anand Swaroop – Principal Investigator) at the National Eye Institute, a part of National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD (https://nei.nih.gov/intramural/nnrl). The candidates will join an interdisciplinary and collaborative team of scientists working on integration of large genetic, transcriptomic and epigenome data to delineate gene regulatory networks and biological pathways associated with retinal development and disease.
Applicants should have received a Ph.D. within the last two years or a B.S. within the last five years in Statistical Genetics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or similar quantitative fields. Only candidates with strong computational skills, ability to work with large datasets, and with excellent communication skills will be considered. Candidates with machine learning, network analysis, and a good knowledge in biology will be preferred. Annual stipend will be commensurate with experience and training.
