Vanderbilt University School of Medicine Basic Sciences invites applications for a faculty position on the educator track. The position requires a Ph.D. in the life sciences, expertise in science education and pedagogy, and preferably two years of experience teaching and developing life sciences curricula. Scholarly work related to science education is highly valued.

The faculty member will work closely with members of the faculty and administration to develop, deploy, and evaluate evidence-based graduate biomedical education and training for first-year PhD students in our Interdisciplinary Graduate Program comprising an average of 65 students yearly.

The successful candidate will be expected to take an evidence-based approach to curricular redesign and course improvement, observing and identifying challenges and then designing and implementing modifications in concert with faculty course directors and instructors. They will work across the disciplines of cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, immunology, infectious diseases, neurobiology, and cancer biology, and be familiar with the principles of online learning. They will also be expected to participate in the teaching of Ph.D.-level courses.
