CIRTL – a great resource for VU PhD students and postdocs interested in college teaching

Posted by on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 in Announcements .

If you’re interested in a career in college teaching, we encourage you to check out resources available through the CIRTL Network. CIRTL stands for Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning and it’s a network of universities (created originally by an NSF grant) which aims to develop a national STEM faculty committed to implementing and advancing effective teaching practices for diverse student audiences. Vanderbilt is an institutional member so Vanderbilt students, faculty, and staff can access CIRTL resources free of charge.

CIRTL resources you may find useful include online courses, webinars, and seminars relating to teaching, the research of teaching and learning, and career development. They also post job openings for faculty positions and postdoctoral opportunities relating to teaching!

Visit the CIRTL website to learn more about the consortium and their resources. You can create a free CIRTL account at and sign up for their newsletter at
