DiSC lesson series for the first half of the spring

Posted by on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 in Announcements .

During the first part of the spring semester, the Libraries’ Digital Scholarship and Communications (DiSC) Office is offering a series of free lessons and workshops to help you build your technical skills.  The Introduction to R using RStudio Cloud will introduce beginners to this popular programming platform commonly used for data wrangling, statistical analysis, and data visualization. The RStudio Cloud platform allows learners to code immediately without any installation. The GitHub series will cover basic version control, project management tools, and building a free professional website using Pages. These lessons use GitHub Desktop, which allows you to manage your repositories without using the command line. The GIS workshops will introduce you to the basics of geographic information systems using ESRI’s ArcPro, open-source QGIS, and the highly accessible ArcGIS Online. All lessons are available remotely and some will also be offered in-person. For more information and registration, visit https://www.library.vanderbilt.edu/disc/workshops
