Part-Time Short-Term Research Assistant (Biomedical Literature Data Entry & Validation)

Compensation: $27/hour
Timing: Training in early May 2026; project work mid-May through early June 2026
Duration: 2–3 weeks initially, with potential extension in 2026
Time Commitment: Minimum 8 hours per week.
BioCentury, a leading information services company serving the biopharma industry, is seeking biomedical graduate students, postdoctoral trainees, and recent graduates for a short-term, part-time data entry project supporting the Innovation Distillery module of its BCIQ database.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience reading biomedical research papers who are detail-oriented, responsive to feedback, and comfortable working within structured workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Extract key information from biomedical research papers and enter it into BioCentury’s BCIQ platform
- Validate classifications and categorizations previously assigned by the BioCentury team
- Follow detailed instructions and apply feedback to improve accuracy and consistency
- Proactively communicate questions or blockers to ensure steady progress
Qualifications:
- Current or recent graduate student or postdoctoral trainee in a biomedical or life sciences field
- Experience reading and understanding primary scientific literature
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured workflows
- Ability to quickly absorb instructions and incorporate feedback
- Willingness to ask questions and seek clarification when needed
- Reliable and able to meet short-term deadlines
Additional Details:
- Minimum of 8 hours per week required; maximum of 28 hours per week
- Flexible, remote work
- Strong performers may have the opportunity to extend for additional project work in 2026
