The Richer Lab in the Department of Microbiology & Immunology at the Indiana University School of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated postdoc to join our research team. The Richer lab has broad interests regarding mechanisms of T cell development, activation and memory generation in the context of acute and chronic viral infections. Current projects include 1) determining the impact of excessive salt consumption on T cell responses to infection 2) understanding the modulation of effector and memory T cell function by the inflammatory milieu, 3) determining the impact of glycosylation on the function and differentiation of T cells in acute and chronic infections and 4) immunological aging with an emphasis on understanding maintenance T cell quiescence. See https://medicine.iu.edu/faculty/51983/richer-martin and https://www.mjricherlab.com/ for more information.
Applicants should have recently completed PhD training, have a solid understanding of immunological concepts and a demonstrated publication track-record. Experience working with mouse models of infection and expertise with flow cytometry are desirable but not required. Successful candidates will work closely with Dr. Richer and other members of the laboratory and will be expected to work independently and contribute to writing peer-reviewed manuscripts and prepare grant applications. Successful candidates will join a dynamic and collaborative lab environment and join a growing immunology community at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, IN.
