BioCentury Inc.

Job Title: Biopharma Analyst

Location: Remote (U.S.-based)

Team: Biopharma Intelligence

Position Type: Full-Time

About BioCentury

BioCentury provides independent deep-dive analysis, high-quality data, and high-impact networking events for biopharmaceutical executives and investors in the U.S., Europe and Asia. We operate a fully integrated multimedia platform — including electronic publications, online data tools, interactive websites, webcasts, and both digital and in-person conferences. From discovery through commercialization, we help clients navigate strategic questions and assess scientific, regulatory and commercial risk.

About the role

As Biopharma Analyst you will generate value-added intelligence on key issues for drug developers and their investors.

Working under the direction of a senior analyst, you will interview expert sources and analyze data from a variety of internal and external sources on topics of strategic interest to BioCentury’s audience.

You will synthesize key takeaways from these sources to help guide drug developers and investors in making business-critical decisions. The output ranges from short-form articles and single-chart analyses to in-depth landscapes and slide decks highlighting the key trends and development considerations for a given disease or other focus area. These span biological targets and pathways, discovery technologies, therapeutic modalities, clinical trial design and outcomes, regulatory trends, private and public financing, business development, and biopharma policy.

Your work will support BioCentury’s mission to inform strategic decision-making in biomedical innovation through data-driven analysis, storytelling and contextual insight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze trends in R&D, finance, dealmaking, regulation and policy across the global biopharma industry
  • Produce narrative content and data visualizations to explain and contextualize the findings
  • Build a network of expert sources who can weigh in on relevant topics
  • Proactively identify new areas of analysis and propose content ideas tailored to BioCentury’s expert audience
  • Ensure all content meets accuracy, context and style standards
  • Collaborate across departments to support editorial, conference and database initiatives
  • Explore new data sources and tools to improve BioCentury’s content workflows and outputs

How You’ll Be Evaluated

  • Analytical rigor: Ability to extract meaningful insights from interviews and complex data, and communicate them clearly
  • Content quality: Accuracy, clarity and utility of your written and visual content
  • Editorial judgment: Understanding of what matters to our audience and how to prioritize it
  • Collaboration: Effectiveness working cross-functionally and incorporating editorial feedback
  • Initiative: Quality and impact of the new analyses and ideas you propose to strengthen our coverage and how we work
  • Responsiveness and reliability: Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects, and follow through on commitments

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus relevant experience in life sciences, biomedical engineering, public health, economics or related field
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools, including AI; ability to learn new platforms and tools quickly
  • Excellent written communication skills, particularly in explaining scientific or financial concepts to knowledgeable audiences
  • Basic knowledge of the biopharma industry, including familiarity with clinical trials, drug development stages and regulatory agencies

Preferred (but not required) Experience

  • Advanced degree in life sciences, biomedical engineering, public health, economics or related field
  • Familiarity with biopharma financing, from private rounds to public markets, and dealmaking, from partnerships to M&A
  • Experience using AI to integrate and analyze data from multiple sources — both to do current analyses faster and to make new kinds of analysis possible
  • Facility with the underlying tools — e.g., Python or SQL for pulling and combining data, and LLM/NLP methods for extracting structure from unstructured text such as papers, filings and transcripts
