Juanita Limas, PhD
Senior Advisor, Molecular Pharmacology·Eli Lilly

Juanita Limas, PhD is a drug hunter at Eli Lilly & Company, where she works in in vitro cell-based pharmacology supporting incretin/diabetes, neurodegeneration, and immunology-based programs, contributing to the advancement of multiple development candidates from early discovery through progression. She also integrates AI tools into her scientific workflows to accelerate data processing, automate repetitive analyses, and surface insights faster, keeping scientific rigor at the center while reducing manual overhead. She is an HHMI Gilliam Fellow, a Burroughs Wellcome GDEP Fellow, an ASPET Molecular Pharmacology Fellow, and the recipient of the Lilly H1 Innovator Award. Amber Amparo
PhD student·Princess Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology

Amber Amparo is a PhD candidate in the Dias Lab at the Princess Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology (Utrecht, Netherlands), where she investigates the strategy of amplifying, rather than suppressing, oncogenic signaling to create therapeutic vulnerabilities in Ewing sarcoma. Her work integrates high-throughput compound screening, time-course transcriptomics, and CRISPR-based functional genomics. Previously, she contributed to the preclinical characterization of a novel multi-selective RAS(ON) inhibitor from Revolution Medicines in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. She aims to advance innovative, mechanistically grounded therapeutic strategies that expand current paradigms in cancer treatment.

Prior to beginning her PhD, Amparo was awarded a Fulbright research fellowship to the Netherlands in 2024. She earned a BSPH in Biostatistics with a second major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In parallel with her research, Amber is a passionate advocate for science education and public engagement, committed to making biomedical research accessible through clear and inclusive science communication
