Mr. Deere will provide an overview of the phased clinical drug development aspects (pre-IND research through Phase IV) required for the FDA, and touch on the parallel mechanisms for international counterparts. Additionally, he will conven a brief review of the new but increasing role that personalized or companion diagnostics will have in the overall review process.

Time permitting, a succinct discussion of the Agency’s philosophical approach to regulatory purview, their actual statutory charge, and what this might indicate for novel medical technologies targeted at improving and optimizing healthcare service delivery; something which should prove essential toward obtaining the enhanced value propositions required in the near term.
