Intern Job Description
Title: Policy Summer Intern 2014
Department: Field Team
Reports to: Kirsten Sloan, Senior Policy Director
Location: Washington, DC

JOB SUMMARY: The Health Policy Intern will work with all members of the ACS CAN Policy Team on federal and state policy initiatives that improve health care for people living with cancer, survivors and their families.

JOB DUTIES:
· Support Senior Director, Policy Principals and Senior Analysts in tracking, monitoring, and analyzing key federal and state health care policy developments;
· Develop fact sheets and other materials for use by state and federal advocacy teams and ACS CAN field staff;
· Maintain and organize program files, resource materials, and other program information systems; and
· All other duties, as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates must be at least a college sophomore with a strong interest in health policy and be able to dedicate at least 25 hours per week during the duration of the internship. Graduate students are strongly preferred. Strong written and oral communications skills are imperative. Candidates should be highly organized, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines, and attentive to detail. Ability to interpret quantitative data is a plus.
