A postdoctoral position is available in the lab of Susan K. Fried, Ph.D., Professor in the Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism Institute at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, in New York City. The lab focuses on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms of adipocyte function in obesity and type 2 diabetes, including how fat distribution is regulated and how it affects metabolic health.
Applicants must have a PhD and/or MD with research experience in cell and molecular biology. Experience with cell culture, FACS, immunohistochemistry, and confocal imaging and interest in clinical/translational research is desirable. The candidate should be highly motivated, having record of scientific publications, strong communication skills, and scientific curiosity.
