Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Nephrology
A NIH-funded postdoctoral fellow position is available immediately in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension to investigate molecular mechanisms contributing to hypertension and renal fibrosis. The laboratory defines mechanisms of extracellular matrix assembly and then applies lessons from this work to translational disease models of renal disease. Our work is also beginning to examine neural mechanisms involved in hypertension and renal fibrosis.
We are seeking a highly motivated recent PhD graduate who has experience in molecular and cell biology with familiarity in genetic or disease mouse models. The ideal candidate will be proficient in cell culture, protein purification, enzymology, and use of mouse models. Furthermore, we hope to develop a fellow into an independent scientist and will support independent, perseverant critical thinkers. Preference will be given to individuals pursuing an academic career who have a strong desire to drive projects to completion and publish as a lead author.
