The company specializes in the discovery, development, and commercialization of companion diagnostics that detect specific cancer biomarkers and assist in the effective diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Insight Genetics partners with leading academic researchers, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, clinical reference laboratories, and IVD kit manufacturers to create new standards of care for cancer patients worldwide.

Responsible for the initiation, design, development, execution and implementation of scientific research projects in collaboration with others that are critical to corporate strategies and image. Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions and projects. May represent the organization as a primary technical contact on contracts or projects requiring coordination across organizational lines. Participates in development of patent and grant applications. May manage and be responsible for professional development of research group. May coordinate interdepartmental activities and research efforts. Contributes to scientific literature and conferences. Projects require expert and extensive knowledge of molecular techniques including PCR chemistry and design, qPCR, standard and Next Generation sequencing. Uses professional concepts and company procedures to develop experimental protocols and study designs to solve a wide range of complex scientific problems in innovative ways. Provides intra/inter-group scientific leadership and training. Often acts as a mentor and may act as a project leader.

Education/                            Required:                            4 year post secondary education, or equivalent experience.






Required:  The ideal candidate will have a PhD in molecular or cellular biology with 2+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred: Experience in the molecular diagnostic industry


Required:  N/A






Required:  Molecular techniques including PCR chemistry and design, qPCR, standard and Next Generation sequencing.

Preferred:  Mammalian cell culture, NGS bioinformatics





Required:   Proven leadership abilities and project management, evidenced written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:  Statistics (Process and DOE, clinical)

Salary is commensurate to prior experience, knowledge, skills, and ability of the individual and the level of training required to meet the duties listed above.)
