The Center for BioMolecular Modeling at the Milwaukee School of Engineering (http://cbm.msoe.edu
) is seeking an individual to join a team of innovative educators who create instructional materials and professional development experiences for high school science teachers in the area of the molecular biosciences. Specific responsibilities will include: 1. Working with teachers and students in the high school SMART Team program (http://cbm.msoe.edu/smartTeams/index.php
), with a special emphasis on the development of online resources to scale this program to the national level. Facility in using social media and collaborative online platforms to engage remote partners will be a plus. 2. Developing and contributing to professional development workshops for high school and undergraduate science educators. 3. Traveling and presenting workshops for teachers at regional and national meetings for science educators. 4. Conducting a rigorous science education research project focused on documenting program impact on both teachers and students. This responsibility will require experience with, or strong interest in learning, science teaching pedagogy and discipline-based science education research methods.
Qualifications: The successful applicant must hold a Master’s or PhD degree in a STEM discipline or in education, and possess exceptionally strong organizational abilities and written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
