Last fall, a committee of VU faculty was appointed by Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Susan Wente to recommend investments in graduate education at Vanderbilt. This committee, the Graduate Education Study Group, released an Executive Summary of their recommendations earlier this spring, with six areas of focus:

1. Recruitment and Retention

2. Career Development and Education

3. Innovation

4. Equity and Excellence

5. Streamline Student Life

6. Support Postdoctoral Fellows

You can read more about the Graduate Education Study Group in this Vanderbilt News article. A series of forums has been scheduled to gather faculty, staff and student input on the Study Group's recommendation, including a special forum for students:

Forum for graduate students about graduate education at VU

Wednesday, October 14

12:00-1:00

202 Light Hall

This is a great opportunity for graduate students to provide input on the future of graduate education at VU! Postdoctoral fellows are also encouraged to attend.
