The Life Science Tennessee Academic Alliance is sponsoring a series of seminars this fall about science policy. The new date and time for "Local Legislation: Spotlight on the Tennessee Medical Licensing Bill" will be Monday, November 4 at 5:30PM. The seminar will be in Light Hall 512. RSVP here. Speakers will be Garry Latimer and Dr. Greg Stelzer. R. Garry Latimer, the President and CEO of DiaTech, and Dr. Greg Stelzer, Executive Vice President and CSO of Diatech, will discuss how biomedical industries can advocate for state legislation. The focus of the seminar will be the recent TN medical licensing bill, what it does for the industry, and how a strong industry association helps DiaTech advocate for local legislation.
The next seminar in this series will be about Federal Relations: Spotlight on Research Advocacy. Speakers are Christina West and Alex Currie, the Vanderbilt Assistant Vice Chancellor and Associate Director, respectively, of the Vanderbilt Office for Federal Relations. They will speak on Wednesday, Nov 20th at 12:00pm (location TBD) about science policy on the federal level.
