The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in collaboration with the National Research Foundation of Singapore has established the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART) - the SMART Centre - at which senior MIT faculty members, in collaboration with scientists and engineers from Singapore, carry out interdisciplinary research on critical problems of societal significance.
The SMART Postdoctoral Scholars Programme is a competitive and prestigious programme that provides exceptionally talented young researchers with the opportunity to conduct research at the SMART Centre in Singapore. The awards provide an annual salary of up to S$90,000, a research grant of up to S$40,000, and a travel allowance of up to S$5,000.
The awards are open to those with less than three years of postdoctoral experience and provided they have received their doctoral degree by September 1, 2014. The fellowship recipient would be able to conduct research of his/her own choice within, but not necessarily tied closely to, a current project in one of the five existing SMART Interdisciplinary Research Groups. It is anticipated that the recipients will start their appointments at SMART by September 1, 2014 or earlier.
Please send your application by April 14, 2014 to http://smart.mit.edu/fellowships/smart-scholars/smart-scholars.html. For more information about the ongoing research projects at SMART and a list of MIT faculty participants, please view our website at http://smart.mit.edu/home.html
