STEM Pedagogy Journal Club meeting, Nov 17

Posted by on Monday, November 2, 2015 in Uncategorized .

The STEM Pedagogy Journal Club will be meeting this month on Tuesday, November 17th at 4pm in MRBIV 11455.

At this meeting, we will be joined by Dr. Anita Disney for our article discussion on applying the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in the college classroom. UDL principles encourage curriculum development that gives all individuals an equal opportunity to learn. Dr. Disney will share her experiences with using these techniques in planning and teaching her "Drugs and Behavior" class for undergraduates.

The article that will be discussed is:

Rose DH, Harbour WS, Johnston CS, Daley SG, Abarbanell L (2006) Universal design for learning in postsecondary education: reflections on principles and their application. Journal of Postsecondary Education and Disability 19(2):135-151.
