Looking to develop speaking and leadership skills? Get better at thinking on your feet? Ace your job interview or qualifying exam? Vanderbilt Toastmasters can help!

Learn more about the Vanderbilt Chapter of Toastmasters at their site. They meet at 6pm on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month in Buttrick Hall 310 on Vanderbilt's campus.  The club is composed of Vanderbilt Undergraduate and Graduate students of all disciplines as well as non-Vanderbilt affiliated citizens.

The meetings are composed of members giving prepared speeches, participation in impromptu speeches, as well as an evaluation session. Through giving speeches and and receiving feedback, members improve upon their communication abilities. Through participation in other roles such as leading the meeting (toastmaster), being an oral evaluator for a speech, or evaluating some other aspect of the meeting (speech timer, counting usage of crutch words such as "ah", etc.), members foster leadership skills as well as the ability to give constructive feedback to others.

Guests are always welcome.
