Posted by on Monday, May 11, 2015 in Uncategorized .

The BRET Office of Career Development is seeking a volunteer Editor to assist in the preparation and publication of the biannual newsletter, "Results and Discussion".  This newsletter highlights research accomplishments of BRET graduate students and postdoctoral fellows and features stories on activities and resources available to BRET trainees.  We are seeking a motivated and organized graduate student or postdoctoral fellow to serve as Editor of the newsletter.

This individual will:

  • Assist in assigning stories to contributing authors
  • Provide editing and feedback to the authors
  • Finalize and format articles
  • Oversee design and layout of the final newsletter
  • Assist with photography as needed
  • Contribute content to the newsletter, as desired

Proficiency with Adobe InDesign or other publishing program would be a plus.

The newsletter is published in print and electronically in April and October each year.  It is distributed to current trainees and faculty, families of trainees, as well as alumni of the BRET program and various community partners.

Ideally, we are seeking someone who could begin working with us immediately to get the October issue underway and could follow that issue to its completion. The opportunity would also exist to continue with supporting the spring 2016 issue.

Please contact Ashley Brady at ashley.brady@vanderbilt.edu if you are interested in learning more about this exciting opportunity to put your writing, editing, graphic design, and communication skills to work.
