The STEM Education Center supports WPI faculty with their BI efforts, is home to the Central MA STEM Network, oversees teacher professional development programs and the undergraduate teacher prep program. This is a full time, staff position that requires a Ph.D., 5+ years of experience in STEM Education, and math, science and engineering content knowledge.

TWISTER (Tennessee Women in Science, Technology, Engineering & Research) is a daylong professional conference for high school girls, presented by women working in Science, Technology, Engineering, Research, and Mathematics – related professions. TWISTER is seeking female role models currently working in a STEM-related field who would like the opportunity to positively impact high school girls interested in pursuing STEM higher education and careers. Presenters are asked to prepare and present a 55-minute session for 20-25 participants that includes details about their careers, educational pathways, and a hands-on activity relevant to their career or session topic.

ASPIRE Module: STEM Teaching in K-12 Schools, Spring 2017

Each participant will have the opportunity to experience the K-12 classroom through a volunteer placement in a middle or high school setting. The placements will be tailored to each participant and will range from one class period to a full day, depending on participant availability. The placement will ideally be scheduled during the last week of the module, but this will depend on participant and classroom availability. Placements will be finalized with participant approval.

Adventure Science Center is seeking presententer for their annual TWISTER (Tennessee Women in Science Technology Engineering and Research) event.  TWISTER is a daylong professional conference for high school girls, presented by women working in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) professions. During a 55-minute session, presenters share details about their careers, answer questions, help steer participants to the right educational pathway, and give a little taste of daily life in the workplace with a hands-on activity.

TWISTER Internship 2016: The Adventure Science Center (ASC) is an independent, not-for-profit educational institution that ignites curiosity and inspires the lifelong discovery of science. TWISTER (Tennessee Women in Science, Technology, Engineering & Research) is a daylong professional conference for high school girls, presented by women working in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Research) professions. Adventure Science Center’s Education Department seeks an intern to assist with planning and coordinating the TWISTER 2017 conference event to take place on February 11, 2017. The TWISTER Intern will sit on the TWISTER planning committee and play an integral role in presenter and volunteer acquisition, session planning, and data analysis.
