Vanderbilt International Student and Scholar Service is currently accepting applications for International Orientation Leaders, who serve as guides and mentors for new international students as they arrive on campus in the fall. It is a relatively low commitment opportunity (there is a training session on Monday, August 11th and students would need to be available for International Orientation on Friday morning, August 15th) that could provide some great mentoring experience for anyone looking to build leadership skills.

Quantitative analysis, risk assessment, model-testing, etc. are critical to all finance industry endeavors. Many STEM PhDs (not just mathematicians) have enough of those skills to enter the field.
