The Rita Allen Foundation and WGBH Boston are pleased to announce the Rita Allen Fellowship for Science Communication. This new program will provide a year's support for one fellow to study the field of science media, experiment with successful media formats and work to expand science literacy in the general public. The fellow will embed at WGBH, one of the pre-eminent science media producers in the US and home to the flagship public media science series NOVA.

The Scientist in the Classroom Partnership Program, previously the National Science Foundation GK-12 Graduate Teaching Fellows Program, began serving Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools in January 2000. Currently, the Scientist in the Classroom Partnership (SCP) Program is a collaboration between five educational institutions of higher learning, in the greater Nashville area.

Opportunities will be available for students to learn about the application process for the AAAS fellowship from a graduate student currently going through this process.

The Atlanta BEST Magazine came out with its first Issue in August 2013. This magazine, for the most part, is run by trainees in the Atlanta BEST program and other BEST institutions. Contributing writers and inspiration come from firsthand Atlanta BEST program experiences, the nationwide consortium of BEST institutions, and engaged people who have messages to share with those working toward strengthening the biomedical workforce.
