Sponsored by the Graduate School, this workshop will explore the community college job market, examine the differences between two-year schools and four-year schools, explain what a typical community college faculty member does, and offer helpful hints and strategies for successfully applying and interviewing at community colleges. Led by popular Chronicle of Higher Education “Two-Year Track” columnist Rob Jenkins, this session is designed to be highly interactive and entertaining as well as informative.

Evidence Based Teaching Workshop at Vanderbilt

The Evidence-based Teaching Workshop sponsored by the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning (CIRTL) is designed for future faculty with no experience with teaching as research, however all Vanderbilt University graduate students, post docs, faculty, and staff are welcome. Workshop topics include how people learn, challenge-based learning, course design, assessment, classroom management, classroom technology, and scholarly resources. The next workshop is the afternoon of August 24th and all day on the 25th.
