This year the Graduate Student Council is teaming up with the Vanderbilt University Psychological and Counseling Center to provide a lunch workshop for graduate students focusing on important skills that can be broadly applied to all aspects of your professional and personal lives.  The GSC's hope is that this workshop will give graduate students the opportunity to think about and discuss things that affect them in their day to day life, and equip them to face these daily challenges in a healthy and effective way.

The intramural program of the National Eye Institute invites applications for a position as a research scientist within the Laboratory of Sensorimotor Research. This position will be tenure track with the potential for conversion to tenure within seven years. Applicants will be expected to establish an independent research program related to understanding the neurobiology of the visual system in awake, non-human primates.

The NIH recently reissued the program announcement for the F32 postdoctoral NRSA fellowship. The new program announcement, PA-14-149, is effective with the April 8, 2014, application deadline. The changes are in response to the recommendations made by the Biomedical Research Workforce Working Group of the Advisory Committee to the Director, NIH.

The Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Obesity Branch of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking an outstanding clinician-scientist with an MD degree to direct a vigorous, innovative patient-oriented research program focused on obesity, diabetes, and energy metabolism. The applicant is expected to initiate clinical and translational protocols to elucidate the genetic, physiologic, and/or environmental factors affecting metabolism and/or energy homeostasis.

Volunteers Needed for Aspirnaut™ Beaming of STEM Labs to Rural America. Aspirnaut is entering its 5th year of beaming hands-on inquiry-based STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) labs to rural Tennessee, Arkansas, Maine.
