General interest meeting for Vanderbilt Women in Science group

There has been a recent effort to develop a Women in Science and Engineering Initiative across the Vanderbilt campus. This new venture will host a general interest meeting on Friday, November 1st from 3-5pm in 208 Light Hall. This meeting is open to ALL students, fellows, faculty and staff. The group will give updates on their current efforts, and solicit suggestions and ideas of what you would like to see happen as this initiative develops at Vanderbilt. Additionally, the group will describe ways to help and become involved.

TOMORROW - From Observation to Opportunity (Accelerate Science Innovation & Entrepreneurship seminar)

TOMORROW, October 23 at 5:30pm, the Life Science TN Academic Alliance will host the next Accelerate Science Innovation & Entrepreneurship seminar. Dr. Tom Nabors speak about an idea from his dental clinic that became a product for a startup company (OralDNA Labs), which was acquired in a about a year by Quest Diagnostics. This is a wonderful success story and we can expect to learn a lot about how this particular entrepreneur brought a product to market. His talk is aptly titled “From Observation to Opportunity.”
