The Serezani Laboratory is looking to have an outstanding postdoc to study the mechanisms involved in exaggerated inflammatory response that occurs during sepsis. Exaggerated inflammation leads to organ injury and morbidities associated with sepsis. Furthermore, we study how people and mice with diabetes handle systemic infections. This project is funded by the NIH and we will be studying how phosphatases and microRNAs intersect to decrease signaling programs involved in both bacterial recognition and effector mechanisms involved in cell death.
