The Human Frontier Science Program is a program of funding for frontier research in the life sciences. It is implemented by the International Human Frontier Science Program Organization (HFSPO) with its office in Strasbourg. HFSP postdoctoral fellowships encourage early career scientists to broaden their research skills by moving into new areas of study while working in a new country.

The Vanderbilt International Scholarship Program (VISP) is sponsoring a symposium of biomedical research from 9:10 a.m. to noon on February 26 in room 208 Light Hall. Eight undergraduate interns and three graduate scholars supported by the program will present their work, followed at 11:30 a.m. by a keynote address by Jun Ding, Ph.D., assistant professor of Neurosurgery at Stanford University.

Vanderbilt International Student and Scholar Service is currently accepting applications for International Orientation Leaders, who serve as guides and mentors for new international students as they arrive on campus in the fall. It is a relatively low commitment opportunity (there is a training session on Monday, August 11th and students would need to be available for International Orientation on Friday morning, August 15th) that could provide some great mentoring experience for anyone looking to build leadership skills.

As a part of the ongoing efforts by the India Alliance to encourage Clinical and Public health research in India, the Wellcome Trust/DBT India Alliance have come up with two initiatives; 1) Two Year Research Training Fellowships for Clinicians, and 2) Early, Intermediate and Senior Fellowship schemes for Clinicians and Public Health researchers. (Separate Competition)  Both the competitions launched on 1 January 2014.
