This person is a self-starter who can successfully work independently and as part of a team.<\/p>\n<p>The U-M Washington, DC Office is a small office that advocates on behalf of the University of Michigan\u2019s higher education and federal research interests. The Federal Relations Associate\/Manager plays a supporting role in the office\u2019s collaborations with higher education associations and advocacy groups to promote federal policies that are aligned with U-M\u2019s mission and priorities, when appropriate. The associate\/manager also monitors federal agency activities and national research priorities, attends hearings, and represents the university at meetings and briefings, as needed.
