Meagan Postema, PhD,\u00a0<\/strong>is <\/span>a current finalist for the 2020-2021 AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow<\/span>ship in the Executive Branch. <\/span>She completed her Ph.D. in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at Vanderbilt University last August and is continuing her work during a postdoctoral fellowship in the same lab. Her research is primarily focused on the molecules and mechanisms involved in intestinal brush border assembly. Meagan\u2019s <\/span>final placement as a AAAS Fellow is TBD, but she hopes to use her STEM communication skills and advocacy experience to work on training initiatives at the NIH or international development within the USAID.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\nAmrita Banerjee, PhD,<\/strong> is a 2020-2021 AAAS Legislative Fellow with an interest in a variety of topics, including workforce development,\u00a0healthcare, and science diplomacy. Amrita completed her Ph.D. in Cell and Developmental Biology at Vanderbilt University in 2019 and her research focused on host-microbiome crosstalk in the small intestine. She is continuing her work as a Postdoctoral fellow in the same lab.
