The position reports directly to the Executive Director and Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) Chair.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Manage grant program<\/strong>, including: writing requests for proposals, soliciting proposals, responding to inquiries, formatting applications, managing review process, negotiating contracts, tracking progress, maintaining database of publications, updating website, and following up at mid-term and project completion<\/li>\n<li><strong>Liaison, monitor progress, and lead integration between key TESS initiatives\u00a0<\/strong>including but not limited to NHS, Ciitzen, Taysha etc<\/li>\n<li><strong>Support clinicians and scientists<\/strong>\u00a0studying SLC13A5 through administrative work, highlight compilation, grant or manuscript writing, and coordination of key personnel<\/li>\n<li><strong>Communicate with scientific and patient communities<\/strong>\u00a0regarding current research and opportunities to participate, including managing forum, presenting at gatherings and updating newsletters, website and\/or social media with news and advancements<\/li>\n<li><strong>Plan workshops,<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>webinars, meetings or conferences<\/strong>; coordinate logistics, scheduling and participant communications, as needed<\/li>\n<li><strong>Work well with staff and Scientific Advisory Boards<\/strong>\u00a0to place TESS in a position of prominence in clinical and basic science research<\/li>\n<li><strong>Identify and develop relationships with highly qualified labs and researchers<\/strong>\u00a0who might be interested in partnership or funding opportunities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Write and submit proposals<\/strong>\u00a0for presentations and workshops or symposia at professional conferences<\/li>\n<li><strong>Attend professional conferences<\/strong>\u00a0and strengthen relationships with NIH, FDA, and peer organizations e.g. CZI, ELC, REN, NORD, Global Genes, ISAN and others<\/li>\n<li><strong>Be aware of current research<\/strong>\u00a0and trends on SLC13A5 and opportunities for TESS support<\/li>\n<li><strong>Write Research Review synopses<\/strong>\u00a0for new publications as they come out<\/li>\n<li><strong>Prepare periodic reports and records on program activities,<\/strong>\u00a0progress, status or other special reports for management<\/li>\n<li><strong>Evaluate program effectiveness<\/strong>\u00a0to develop improved methods, processes, and efficiencies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>PhD, MD, or other post-graduate 4 year degree in the neuroscience or related field<\/li>\n<li>2 years clinical or basic science research experience<\/li>\n<li>Experience working in a research or academic environment preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent project management skills and attention to detail<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of SLC13A5, epilepsy, and\/or other rare neurological disease<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of translational research and design and management of clinical studies<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of NIH rating scale, peer review, and statistics calculations<\/li>\n<li>Excellent technical computer skills, competent with Microsoft Office, Google Tools, project management software, and database software; good troubleshooting and conflict resolution skills.<\/li>\n<li>Strong written and oral communications skills, especially related to science communications; grant writing a plus<\/li>\n<li>Solid organizational and analytical skills<\/li>\n<li>Proven management of time and program plans, ability to work efficiently and independently plan time, meet deadlines, take initiative, \u00a0and follow through on tasks accomplish goals<\/li>\n<li>Ability to foster a collaborative working environment, encouraging the integration of others\u2019 ideas<\/li>\n<li>Empathy for people with rare diseases;<\/li>\n<li>Possess hustle, integrity, honesty and a sense of humor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>SALARY\/BENEFITS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Part-time to full time.<\/li>\n<li>Salary commensurate with experience.<\/li>\n<li>No health benefits.<\/li>\n<li>Paid Vacation\/Leave policy.<\/li>\n<li>Start immediately.<\/li>\n<li>TESS is based in Menlo Park, California; This job can be completed remotely.
