 <\/p>\n

The ASPIRE Program is excited to announce that ASPIRE\u00a0Mock Interview Day<\/strong>\u00a0will be held on March 28, 2022, from 1:00-5:00 pm, virtually via Zoom! This event will provide biomedical PhD students and postdocs the opportunity to practice their interview skills with employers and alumni working in the field of industry, and receive valuable feedback. Participants will have up to 4 mock interviews, each lasting about 30 minutes.<\/p>\n

We start this event with a keynote talk from alumni Larry Thompson, PhD<\/a>, followed by a Q&A panel featuring individuals recently hired into industry and acutely aware of the industry job search\/interview experience. This will be held from 1p-2p. Interviews will start at 2:30p. These interviews are for PhD Students and Postdocs interested in\u00a0research scientist roles in industry, specifically.\u00a0<\/strong>While filling out your application, you will also need an updated version of your CV or Resume that is appropriate for these types of roles.<\/p>\n

This is a limited-capacity event open to both PhD students and postdoctoral fellows in the biomedical sciences. Preference will be given to individuals who are currently interviewing for positions, and to those who will finish their training at VU within the next 18 months.<\/p>\n

To help you prepare for mock interview day, the ASPIRE Program is offering several events to help prepare for this day, which are highlighted\u00a0here<\/a>. Students and postdocs who attend Interviewing 101 will be given priority in signing up for the Mock Interview day, so don\u2019t miss out!<\/p>\n

February 14<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0 \u00a0Applications due<\/p>\n

February 14-16<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Applicants notified of their acceptance for mock interview day<\/p>\n

February 28<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Revised CV\/resumes due (if requested)<\/p>\n

March 7<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Participants receive names\/titles of individuals with whom they will be interviewing and example\u00a0job descriptions for typical positions within the career field.<\/p>\n

March 28\u00a0 \u2013\u00a0MOCK INTERVIEW DAY (2:30pm-5:00 pm interviews will occur)<\/strong><\/p>\n
