In addition, the selection team looks for a commitment to the United States\u2019 fundamental principles and ideals. Selection is based on merit \u2013 the specific <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pdsoros.org\/apply\/criteria\">selection criteria<\/a> emphasize creativity, originality, initiative and sustained accomplishment. Neither financial need nor distributive considerations are taken into account in the selection process.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The application for the 2023\u00a0Fellowship is now <a href=\"https:\/\/pdsoros-fellowships.smapply.io\/prog\/2023_application\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">open<\/a>\u00a0and the deadline to apply is October 27, 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Each Fellowship supports\u00a0one to two years of graduate study\u00a0in any field and in any advanced degree-granting program\u00a0in the United States.
