There are multiple aspects that are of particular interest; hematopoietic stem cells and their handling, creative strategies to achieve functional gene correction using CRISPR nuclease and related approaches such as base editing and prime editing, and the delivery of editing tools or edited cell products.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to molecular correction of gene sequence, our work demonstrating functional restoration is key and requires knowledge about immunology. This also provides unique opportunities to study biological function of many newly described disease-causing genes.
