Genentech, a world-class biotechnology company in South San Francisco, is launching an<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Open Call for our postdoc program<\/a>\u00a0aimed at identifying top scientific talent, independent of a specific job posting for a given scientist\u2019s lab. Applicants are provided the freedom to select three potential Genentech postdoc mentor\u2019s that they are most interested in working with in order to propel the next stage of their scientific career.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our existing postdoc hiring process will also continue, wherein students can apply for<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>specific openings<\/a>, however this new approach enables students to apply for a postdoc position in\u00a0ANY\u00a0<\/i><\/b>Genentech<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>postdoc mentor\u2019s lab<\/a>. HOW TO APPLY<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Applications for the \u201cPostdoc Hiring Initiative (PHI): Open Call for Postdocs\u201d are due by\u00a0<\/span>Monday July 31, 2023 at 12pm PST<\/span><\/b>. We plan to offer this type of postdoc opportunity during a limited timeframe on an annual basis.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

QUALIFICATIONS<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0 <\/span>Recent graduates <three years since receiving degree> of a doctoral program (PhD) or in the final year of doctorate in a relevant field of science\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0 <\/span>At least one first-author research publication in a peer-reviewed scientific journal or currently in press<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0 <\/span>A demonstrated ability to think critically, work independently, and solve complex problems<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0 <\/span>Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills<\/span><\/p>\n
