Developing a clear, comprehensive, and competitive application is estimated to take at least 25 hours, so we encourage you to start this process as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>We suggest you complete the \u2018Personal Information\u2019 and \u2018Recommendation\u2019 sections of the application first. We require that all recommenders use the online system. You are responsible for ensuring that your application and three letters of recommendation are submitted by the deadline.<\/p>\n<p>The application has six major sections:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Personal Information<\/li>\n<li>Recommendations<\/li>\n<li>Declarations<\/li>\n<li>Resume<\/li>\n<li>Essays<\/li>\n<li>Certification<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Applications will not be complete until both the application and three recommendations have been submitted online. Only applications completed by the\u00a0<span id=\"ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_lblClosingDateWritten\">January 3, 2025<\/span>\u00a0deadline will be considered. You must use the online system to apply. What type of individual is the program seeking to find?<\/h3>\n<p>The President\u2019s Commission on White House Fellowships is looking for individuals who are most likely to fulfill the mission of the White House Fellows Program. Selection as a White House Fellow is based on a combination of the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list seenSection\">\n<li>A record of remarkable professional achievement early in one\u2019s career.<\/li>\n<li>Evidence of leadership skills and the potential for further growth.<\/li>\n<li>A demonstrated commitment to public service.<\/li>\n<li>The skills to succeed at the highest levels of the Federal government, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All these qualities combined with the strength of one\u2019s character are taken into consideration when selecting a class of White House Fellows.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading seenSection\">2. What is the experience of a White House Fellow during the program year?<\/h3>\n<p>Being a White House Fellow is an honor, a privilege, and a full-time commitment. Fellows are expected to fully engage in their work placement, which lies at the heart of a White House Fellowship. Work placements can offer unparalleled experience working with Cabinet and White House officials on challenging issues. The work often requires long hours and, at times,\u00a0may also require travel on behalf of the agency.<\/p>\n<p>The Education Program augments and enhances the work experience. Over the course of the year, Fellows are expected to fully participate in the Education Program, which includes semi-weekly speaker seminars and, when possible,\u00a0domestic policy trips, an international policy trip, and day trips to study various policy issues.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to their work placement and Education Program, the Fellows also participate in community service projects during their year in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading seenSection activeSection\">Application and Eligibility<\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading seenSection activeSection\">3. How do I apply?<\/h3>\n<p>Applicants should apply online by visiting the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/get-involved\/fellows\/apply\">Apply<\/a>\u00a0section of the White House Fellows website.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading seenSection activeSection\">4. What is the selection process like? What are the eligibility requirements?<\/h3>\n<p>Applicants must be U.S. citizens. Applicants must have completed their undergraduate education and be working in their chosen professions.
