Current and past fellows<br \/>\nhave studied FDA regulation, patents, drug access and costs, and competition in the<br \/>\ntherapeutic marketplace. Other areas of focus include the relationship between<br \/>\nintellectual property and drug costs and availability, ethical issues affecting the<br \/>\npharmaceutical market, drug comparative effectiveness, as well as the development,<br \/>\napproval, and evidence-based use of drugs, devices, vaccines, and diagnostics.<br \/>\nApplications are invited from researchers with doctoral degrees (J.D., M.D., Ph.D.,<br \/>\nPharm.D., or equivalent) or who will complete such training by July 2024. Fellows will<br \/>\nhave an appointment at Harvard Medical School, receive close mentorship from<br \/>\nfaculty members in PORTAL and the Division, and engage in projects intended to<br \/>\nstart their careers in law and public health. Fellows have been successful in<br \/>\ntransitioning to jobs in academia (medicine, law, public health), government, and<br \/>\nprivate practice. Fellowship length will vary depending on the candidate (minimum: 1<br \/>\nyear).<br \/>\nThe deadline is January 5, 2024.
