We are looking to add to our NYC based Raymond James Biotech Equity Research team! We aim to produce academically inspired in-depth research across our Neurology, Hematology, and Autoimmune SMID cap coverage under the direction of Danielle Brill. We are looking for someone with a background in biological science and a passion for staying up to date with industry news, the financial markets, and disruptive drug modalities.<\/p>\n

Job Summary<\/b>
\nSupport Senior Equity Analyst in analyzing biotech companies and market trends by creating\/maintaining financial models, writing investment-related and thematic research reports, interviewing physician\/ industry experts, conducting literature reviews, and critically evaluating clinical\/ scientific data. Assist in identifying and formulating new investment ideas to support the generation of new business activity. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, client-service oriented, has a passion for investing, and can thrive in a team-driven, fast-paced environment.<\/p>\n

Essential Duties and Responsibilities<\/b><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Develops expertise on the biotech industry and individual biotech companies in order to assess the impact of clinical data readouts, and other impactful news.<\/li>\n
  • Assembles and analyzes clinical, scientific and other data to help inform investment ideas\/ views on market outlook.<\/li>\n
  • Prepares internal and external written reports and presentations to communicate research findings, news events, and investment ideas.<\/li>\n
  • Develops financial models for revenue and income forecasts, cash flow analysis, balance sheet, and quarterly projections.<\/li>\n
  • Works with Senior Research Analysts in defining and documenting objectives and approaches for specific research projects and studies<\/li>\n
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n

    Qualifications<\/b><\/p>\n

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of<\/b>
    \n\u2022 Company\u2019s working structure, policies, mission, and strategies.
    \n\u2022 Advanced concepts, practices, and procedures of Equity Research.
    \n\u2022 Principles of banking and finance and securities industry operations.
    \n\u2022 Financial markets and products.<\/p>\n

    Skill in<\/b>
    \n\u2022 Identifying relationships, drawing logical conclusions, interpreting results, and communicating findings both orally and in writing.
    \n\u2022 Quantitative and analytical analysis sufficient to assist in the development of corporate financial projections and equity valuation metrics.
    \n\u2022 Using technical\/professional knowledge, interpersonal and sales skills to obtain customers\u2019 commitment to ideas, services, or products.
    \n\u2022 Accounting and financial statement analysis.
    \n\u2022 Building accurate computer-generated financial models.
    \n\u2022 Microsoft Office suite, with an intermediate\/advanced knowledge of Excel
    \n\u2022 Data analytics\/Coding skills strongly preferred<\/p>\n

    \n\u2022 Organize, manage, and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with critical deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
    \n\u2022 Use appropriate interpersonal styles and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with all organizational levels.

    \n\u2022 Convey information clearly and effectively through both formal and informal documents.<\/p>\n

    Educational\/Previous Experience Requirements<\/b>
    \n\u2022 Higher life sciences degree (Ph.D., M.D., Pharm.D.) strongly preferred
    \n\u2022 Demonstrated interest in the financial markets
    \n\u2022 OR ~
    \n\u2022 Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and\/or training approved by Human Resources.<\/p>\n

    Licenses\/Certifications<\/b>
    \n\u2022 SIE required provided that an exemption or grandfathering cannot be applied, or the ability to obtain within three (3) months of hire.
    \n\u2022 FINRA Series 86\/87 licenses or the ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire.
    \n\u2022 FINRA Series 63 may be required, depending on domicile<\/p>\n
