Important note: the deadline for submitting applications is\u00a0August 25, 2024.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Student Worker Opportunity<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Office of Federal Relations invites Vanderbilt University students who are interested in higher education or science policy issues to apply for our student worker opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>As a student worker with OFR, your responsibilities may include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Researching public policy initiatives related to the university\u2019s federal policy priorities.<\/li>\n<li>Tracking federal legislation related to the university\u2019s priorities.<\/li>\n<li>Watching virtual congressional hearings and other relevant briefings and preparing memo summaries.<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with developing content for our e-newsletter to Capitol Hill staff or social media.<\/li>\n<li>Updating various tools related to our advocacy efforts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The opportunity would be ideal for a student with an interest in the role advocacy plays in the federal policy process. OFR\u2019s student worker will demonstrate a high level of professionalism with an ability to appropriately manage sensitive information; strong writing and critical thinking skills are a must!<\/p>\n<p>This opportunity will be campus-based and remote from OFR\u2019s DC-based office. This will be a part-time position (8-10 hours\/week) based on the student\u2019s availability.
