This\u00a0program\u00a0provides\u00a0funding\u00a0to\u00a0groups\u00a0led\u00a0by\u00a0STEMM\u00a0graduate\u00a0students,\u00a0post-docs,\u00a0and\u00a0professional\u00a0students\u00a0in\u00a0STEMM\u00a0fields\u00a0for\u00a0projects\u00a0related\u00a0to\u00a0public\u00a0engagement.\u00a0The\u00a02024-2025\u00a0microgrants\u00a0are\u00a0generously\u00a0funded\u00a0by\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhmi.org\">Howard\u00a0Hughes\u00a0Medical\u00a0Institute.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"\">Over\u00a0the\u00a0years,\u00a0past\u00a0grantees\u00a0have\u00a0developed\u00a0and\u00a0led\u00a0various\u00a0high-impact\u00a0projects such as: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"\">organizing\u00a0roundtable\u00a0discussions\u00a0with\u00a0community members and public officials about local concerns<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"\">sharing\u00a0the\u00a0wonder\u00a0of\u00a0science\u00a0with\u00a0K-12\u00a0students<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"\">creating\u00a0compelling\u00a0podcasts\u00a0about\u00a0science\u00a0topics<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"\">using\u00a0data\u00a0visualization\u00a0to\u00a0address\u00a0public\u00a0health\u00a0concerns and <strong>MUCH<\/strong> more! \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"\">Participation\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0microgrant\u00a0program allows early career researchers to\u00a0build\u00a0transferable\u00a0skills\u00a0and\u00a0gain\u00a0relevant\u00a0experience\u00a0for\u00a0professional\u00a0opportunities both inside and outside of academia. You will\u00a0receive\u00a0guidance\u00a0and\u00a0support\u00a0from\u00a0Research America\u00a0staff and\u00a0build\u00a0connections\u00a0with\u00a0other\u00a0participants\u00a0across\u00a0the\u00a0country.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Curriculum in Science Communication and Public Engagement Skills:<\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"\">Research America is also excited to launch\u00a0a\u00a0new\u00a0category\u00a0of\u00a0microgrants\u00a0for\u00a02024-2025.\u00a0With\u00a0generous\u00a0support\u00a0from\u00a0the\u00a0Lasker\u00a0Foundation,\u00a0this\u00a0new\u00a0category\u00a0focuses\u00a0on creating a curriculum\u00a0in\u00a0science\u00a0communication\u00a0and\u00a0other\u00a0public\u00a0engagement\u00a0skills.\u00a0Research America\u00a0welcomes\u00a0novel\u00a0ideas\u00a0to\u00a0develop\u00a0and\u00a0test\u00a0public\u00a0engagement\u00a0training\u00a0content.
