Our mission is to lead the way to end Alzheimer\u2019s and all other dementia\u2013 by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Medical and Scientific Relations Internship would work on coordinating the day-to-day activities of the Alzheimer&#8217;s Association International Society to Advance Alzheimer&#8217;s Research and Treatment (ISTAART). The Intern would liaise with both internal Alzheimer&#8217;s Association staff and external ISTAART members to meet the needs of the Society\u2019s daily operational activities.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>ISTAART is a diverse global network of scientists, clinicians and dementia professionals. Members of this professional organization share common goals: the pursuit of knowledge, collaboration and breakthroughs to advance the research and treatment of Alzheimer&#8217;s disease and other dementias. ISTAART members represent over 120 countries, making this a dynamic global community that collaborates across many areas of Alzheimer&#8217;s and dementia research. Members have the opportunity to connect with colleagues worldwide, explore avenues for networking and mentorship, and stay on the leading edge of scientific advancements.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The Medical and Scientific Relations Intern responsibilities include:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><b><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2022 Organize the preparation of ISTAART communications and announcements via emails and newsletters, the ISTAART website, and social media.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Coordinate the production of ISTAART\u2019s podcasts.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Liaise with scientists and authors of publications from our journal family to make the podcast appealing for them to participate in, and then help facilitate the logistics or organizing the podcast recordings etc. This might mean setting up meetings with scientists who may want to understand the process a bit more, or creating welcoming and clear email communications to make this process as easy as possible for these guests.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Respond to ISTAART queries via email or phone.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Ideal candidate:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><b><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2022 Excellent analysis of data<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2022 Self-starter and results-oriented with ability to meet goals<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Internship Details:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><b><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2022 This is a part-time, paid internship, with the opportunity to visit the foundation and meet the team using a paid ASPIRE Travel award<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>\u2022 We expect the intern to work approximately 8-10 hours per week for 10 weeks, with the possibility to extend pending review<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Work will be conducted remotely on projects determined at the beginning and throughout the internship period.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Reports to Director, Scientific Programs<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Applications due by noon, Wednesday, December 4, 2024 (applications will be provided to the org on a rolling basis, so applying sooner will be advantageous)<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p>\u25cf Fill out the following ASPIRE Internship Application found here: <a href=\"https:\/\/redcap.link\/ASPIREInternship_Application\">https:\/\/redcap.link\/ASPIREInternship_Application<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u25cf Submit a resume and cover letter at the RedCap link above.
