ASPIRE to Plan\u00a0will empower biomedical sciences PhD students and postdoctoral fellows to make effective career decisions and identify specific training opportunities related to their career goals.\u00a0It consists of\u00a0four interactive\u00a0seminars emphasizing self-assessment, career options for scientists, and career planning. ASPIRE to Plan will highlight Vanderbilt resources available to aid PhD students and postdocs in their career exploration and professional development. As part of ASPIRE to Plan,\u00a0participants will\u00a0set concrete goals for taking the next steps in their professional development.<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

ASPIRE to Plan is ideal for second or third year graduate students and early-stage postdoctoral fellows, but we welcome students and postdocs to participate at any stage of their training. Please note that ASPIRE to Plan will NOT address job search strategies or topics like interviewing and negotiation.<\/p>\n

ASPIRE to Plan will be offered twice each year, and is limited to 20 participants per session. \u00a0Please check back later for more details on upcoming sessions. \u00a0ASPIRE to Plan Sessions will also be advertised in the Office of Career development\u00a0e-newsletter<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0blog<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Note:\u00a0 The ASPIRE to Plan series is\u00a0required<\/span>\u00a0for all trainees who want to apply for the ASPIRE externship or internship programs, which will begin in 2015.<\/em><\/p>\n
